Oh, dear, here we go with the defensive, unhelpful comments from people's friends. Simply because you like her doesn't mean people aren't allowed to disagree with what she does or what she says, so, no, I won't be taking your advice.
As for how it's an "old chestnut" -- Dreamwidth has been in open beta for three days, but people have been talking about it as the second coming for weeks. So, yeah, at this point, Dreamwidth/Other Journaling Service is better than LiveJournal is pretty old meme.
so you're just being unpleasant because you are unpleasant. if you read the OP's post, she worked with an LJ admin to fix the problem. not sure what else you'd want. and livejournal's had problems since it got sold the first time. everyone knows that. now that there's a seemingly-stable other option, of course people are going to be a little happy about it. jesus.
I will always defend people I like on the basis of the other good things they do.
That's very noble of you, but please don't go around saying that people can't criticize the people you like because you like them. That's very...unwise of you, to phrase it nicely.
From what I could see in the post that was linked, other people were the ones doing the communication with the LJ admin, not her. If you'd like to link me to a comment or a post that suggest otherwise, by all means, do.
Well, there's this. And, y'know, a bunch of Private Messages back and forth between marta and I.
You want a timeline of events? I posted, tired and cranky, answered a few replies, went to work, THE INTERNET EXPLODED, I came back from work, talked to marta and we fixed it. Then I went to bed, got up this morning, posted again sorting out the situation (cuz it's really silly at this point), then saw you going off about bad PR (a statement that still doesn't make sense to me, cuz it's not like I'm working for Dreamwidth or anything).
I'm not saying don't criticize me ever, but I still don't get what I did so wrong in this whole situation.
